A year ago, the inaugural workshop at the Kameha Suite in Frankfurt a.M. marked the launch of the M&A digitalization working group of the German Mergers & Acquisitions Association. Shortly afterwards, our “Due Diligence & Legal” working group, which emerged from the workshop, also began a joint exchange. Now that a year has passed, we would like to take a look back at the past events of our working group. <\/p>\n

After getting to know each other and collecting topics in summer 2018, our event in October 2018 focused on the topic of financial due diligence. Wilhelm Mickerts and Kristina Ganzen from Warth & Klein Grant Thornton AG Wirtschaftspr\u00fcfungsgesellschaft gave a very informative presentation on the topic of “Big data analyses in the due diligence process”. <\/p>\n

In November 2018, Chris Beckmann from Drooms GmbH gave us a very interesting insight into what modern data room solutions can achieve. He also shared his practical experience on the organization of Q&As and best practice in due diligence. <\/p>\n

Another event in January 2019 focused on the topics of “Tech and software due diligence” and “Cyber security risks in M&A”. Dr. Caroline Geiger from ZIRNGIBL Rechtsanw\u00e4lte Partnerschaft mbB and Martin K\u00fcgler and Lorenz Kuhlee, both from Ernst & Young GmbH Wirt <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\nMost recently, in April 2019, Dr Philipp Schultes from ZIRNGIBL Rechtsanw\u00e4lte Partnerschaft mbB addressed the question of what role legal tech or digitalization plays or can play in the future in solving legal tasks in the context of M&A transactions – especially in the drafting of contracts.<\/p>\n

The exchange between the participants during our meetings was always informative and a great pleasure. For this reason, further working group events are planned for the future. We will present the results of our working group’s work from past events in an article in M&A REVIEW. <\/p>\n
