Press release – 20 years of the German Mergers & Acquisitions Association – New board focuses on future topics

Munich, June 20, 2023 – Just in time for its 20th anniversary, the Federal Association of Mergers
& Acquisitions has reorganized its Management Board. Represented by top-class female managers
and top managers of the German economy, the Federal Association of German
position itself even more strongly in this context and support entrepreneurs in their external and
also support organic transformation.

The German Mergers & Acquisitions Association has been supporting the German M&A sector for 20 years
as a lobby, knowledge and networking platform and as a link to foreign
M&A associations. Since its foundation in 2003, the organization has developed into a
powerful association with over 300 member companies. Since 2015,
has used the renowned magazine M&A REVIEW as its media platform, which has also been the co-publisher of the SME magazine LEBENSWERK since 2022
. Networking events
also promote exchange between members. In addition to numerous
digital formats, these include the M&A Summit and the SME Day Shift & Change. The association
has now once again been recognized as a non-profit organization and is using the expanded scope for action for a
realignment. Among other things, this envisages expanding cooperation with chairs at universities
and other research institutions and thus further increasing visibility.
In terms of content, the M&A association will expand its methodological expertise and, in addition to the previous
focus topics of digitalization and international cooperation, will increasingly devote itself to the topics of
taxes, law, sustainability, positioning and women in M&A.

The agenda is being driven forward by the new Executive Board, which was elected at today’s
general meeting in Munich. The new board consists of: Jan
Pörschmann, Partner Proventis Partners, Dr. Barbara Mayer, Attorney at Law, Partner ADVANT
Beiten, Dr. Hartmut Ruh, Head of Group Strategy, M&A and VC Körber AG, Prof. Dr. Florian Bauer,
Professor of Strategic Management at the University of Bristol Business School and Ralf-Georg
Mittler, Managing Director Deutsche Bank AG. The previous Chairman of the Board and founder of the
association, Prof. Dr. Kai Lucks, will be stepping down for reasons of age. His long-time companion Prof. Dr. Reinhard Meckl will also be leaving
.

The new Chairman of the Board, Jan Pörschmann, comments: “The entire Board would like to thank Prof.
Lucks most sincerely for creating a German M&A association and for his tireless
commitment over the past 20 years. Without him, the association would not only be less well positioned
today – it would not exist at all!”
Pörschmann has a clear goal in mind for the future of the association: “Our main aim is to further develop
the industrial structures in Germany dynamically and with foresight in line with
international requirements. In doing so, we act as a bridge to the
companies and our partners.”
