The event organized by the Bundesverband Mergers & Acquisitions gem. e.V. and mandaco took place against an impressive backdrop at CORE SE, a member of the Bundesverband, on Berlin’s Wannsee. Over the course of two days, around 50 M&A experts – mostly representatives from European corporates – had the opportunity to take part in interactive workshops on three key topics, help shape topics and discuss relevant issues from their day-to-day work with like-minded people.
The first focus topic was “Portfolio Management & FDI”. Keynotes, discussion panels and various workshops formed the starting point for all discussions. One highlight was the workshop “News on FDI and the resulting impact on the M&A process”, led by Dr. Angelika Milger (BMWi) and Dr. Christian von Wistinghausen from Federal Association member ADVANT Beiten.
“Digitalization and AI” was the second main topic, which was also covered in keynotes, discussion panels and workshops by selected experts and from different perspectives. Not only were possible theoretical applications of AI and digitalization in the M&A process discussed, but also a practical example of several providers in a use case led to impressive insights for the audience.
In the third field, the topics “Best Practice / M&A and Science” were dealt with by experts from science and practice. Individual best practices were presented and discussed at the highest level by experts in front of a very experienced audience. An enrichment for all participants.
In the run-up to the European M&A Community Summit, a workshop was held with experts from MAdiscover, a member of the German association, which looked at the M&A process of the future.
We are delighted that the majority of the presenters and event participants were members of the Federal Association.
We were also able to arouse the interest of some new potential members and hope to be able to announce a number of new additions here soon.
