In 2023, the Bundesverband Mergers & Acquisitions gem.e.V. (BM&A) recorded a strong increase in members, which is a sign of the growing importance of M&A as a strategic instrument for corporate development. The importance of M&A has increased significantly in recent years, particularly in the SME sector. In addition, many SMEs are looking for successors, which further increases the need for knowledge about buying and selling companies.
In order to meet this demand, the BM&A has announced that it will increasingly go into the regions and impart its knowledge of M&A to members and non-members from SMEs. With its publication M&A REVIEW and the SME magazine LEBENSWERK, which is published in cooperation with the Institut für Unternehmensnachfolge e.V., the BM&A is ideally placed to provide members with first-hand knowledge about buying and selling companies. In addition, there are conferences such as “Shift & Change 2023 – The BM&A SME Day” on May 23 in Baierbrunn and the regional days based on this. Much more is planned.
These BM&A activities decided last year are having an impact, as evidenced by the increase in membership in the first quarter of the year.
